Jess how do you create a small waist? This is a question that I get asked all the time .
-
🙅🏼‍♀️No it is not from waist training
🙅🏼‍♀️No it’s not from doing abs every day.
-
Firstly genetically I have broader shoulders and wider hips so that’s a start. Part of this is genetics BUT it is not all genetics.
-
Everyone has a different genetic makeup which definitely does help. Being a IFBB Figure Pro previously I have always trained to achieve a “V-Taper”.
-
So how to train to achieve the V- Taper, small waist.
-
1- Lift heavy to gain muscle focusing more on certain areas.
2- Work on achieving rounded shoulders , wide lats(back), sweeping quads and thick glutes and hammies. This will all accentuate and make your waist look smaller by creating a V-Taper.
3-Cardio will help you loose fat around the mid section .
4-Decrease foods that cause bloating .
-
My Fav Exercises to create V Taper:
💪🏼Shoulders : Shoulder Press, Lat raises
💪🏼Back: Wide grip pull ups, wide grip pull downs, DB 1 Arm Rows, wide grip seated Rows.
💪🏼Quads: Leg Press( narrow stances), Squats, Lunges, hack squats (you want to hit the lateral quads).
💪🏼Glutes/hammies: Thrusters, Sumo Squats & deads, Lunges, Romanian deadlifts and hammy curls.
-
I have always trained to have a balanced physique so yes I train chest and arms too but a lot of focus on creating width through my back to create wider lats, capping the delts with heavy presses and side raises, and creating thick legs .Training abs abs abs won’t help to get abs or make your waist smaller team.
-
There is no secret or rocket science , train hard, eat well and in a surplus to gain muscle and as always BE CONSISTENT. -
